    For both investors and entrepreneurs

How does someone learn how to be a successful Angel Investor?

Topics Covered in this Workshop include:

Week #7 (Thursday, July 17, 2025) - Lead Investors & Board Members: Learn what it means to serve as a Lead Investor and best practices for serving as a board member.

This is the workshop for investors who are interested in leading an investment deal through an angel syndicate. The lead investor plays an important role in getting the deal done beginning with showing a commitment for the deal and communicating with peer investors to gauge interest and guide them through the deal. The lead works closely with the due diligence team to make sure that all the critical questions are answered and that risk has been mitigated for investors. The lead assists RVC staff in negotiating the deal by preparing the term sheet and ensuring that the terms are acceptable to all investors in the deal. The lead may also play a role in syndicating, not only within RVC, but with outside VC and angel groups. This helps bring out of state money into Colorado, but also helps to fund RVC companies and close out the rounds.

This workshop walks participants through the deal process and gives tips at each stage to drive engagement, evaluate the deals and, when appropriate, to bring in investors and get the deal done. Workshop participants receive resources to help them through the process as well as answers to the most common questions first time leads have.

For your best deal, you should consider ACTIVE INVESTOR MEMBERSHIP in Rockies Venture Club, Colorado's leading angel network. RVC Signature Series: Life Sciences Night

Life Sciences offer special opportunities for entrepreneurs, angel investors and Venture Capitalists alike. There are huge markets in healthcare and the investment profits at exit is often different and more robust than other industries as large companies often use acquisition as an R&D strategy.  For angel and VC investors, life science investments can be one of the most profitable sectors.

The Colorado Bioscience Association and Rockies Venture Club have joined in partnership to present Life Sciences Night, which will showcase investment ready Colorado life sciences startups, a panel discussion from local VCs, and valuable networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors.

      In partnership with

After the conclusion of presentations, all accredited investors in attendance are invited to join the Rockies Venture Club Investor Forum. RVC Investor Forums serve to pool the wisdom, expertise, and capital of many individual angels. There is no requirement to invest and each investor has an opportunity to indicate interest in following or leading a specific deal. Both new and experienced investor members are welcome at forums -- this is the best way to learn hands-on about angel investing!

Entrepreneurs interested in presenting at the event can submit a formal pitch application to RVC by July 20th to be considered: https://sparkxyz.io/applications/624

        RVC October 2025 Investor Forum

        Hosted at Thrive Ballpark

RVC Investor Forums bring together accredited angel investors interested in fast-growing, early-stage companies in Colorado. These forums serve to pool the wisdom, expertise, and capital of many individual angels. At this forum, investor members will hear pitches, and afterwards the founders are excused and investors discuss the merits and risks of each venture. There is no requirement to invest and each investor has an opportunity to indicate interest in following or leading a specific deal. Both new and experienced investor members are welcome at forums -- this is the best way to learn hands-on about angel investing!
